Emeco Travel was founded in November 1976 by Mr. Elhamy ElZayat, the present Chairman and CEO of the entire Emeco Group. It is under his leadership that Emeco has grown to what it is today.
In addition to his Emeco role, Mr. Elhamy ElZayat is a Board Member of the Holding Company for Tourism and Cinemas and Arabian Hotel Media Production City and a General Assembly Member of Egypt Air and Egypt Airport Authorities. Formerly, he was Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Federation, Euromic, and the Egyptian Travel Agents Association.
Awards recognizing Mr. Elhamy ElZayat’s leadership include the Academy Award 2005 from IMEX, the Twentieth Century Achievement Award 2000 and Man of the Year 1997 from the American Biographical Institute, World Peace through Tourism 1997 from American Express & Reed, and Personnalite de l`Année 1993 " Distinction International " Tourisme from the French government and the New Zealand Award of Merit on June 4, 2007.
