Treasures
Cairo
The capital of Egypt and the largest city in Africa, the name means “the victorious city”. It is located on both banks of the River Nile near the head of the river’s delta in northern Egypt and has been settled for more than 6000 years, serving as the capital of numerous Egyptian civilizations.
Luxor
Luxor, once an Ancient Egyptian capital, is known today as the world’s “greatest open-air museum.” From the tomb of Tutankhamen in the Valley of the Kings and the magnificent sunset views at the majestic temple complexes of Karnak and Luxor to the exciting and fun Nile cruises, Luxor is the perfect choice for culture vultures.
Aswan
Located about 899 km south from Cairo, Aswan is a serene Nile Valley destination where the Nile is more majestic than anywhere else, flowing through granite rocks, and round emerald islands covered in palm groves and tropical plants. It is considered as an all-time favorite winter destination.
Abu Simbel
Prepare to be blown away by the magnificence of Abu Simbel temples. They are undisputedly one of the world’s most breathtaking monuments, and Egypt’s second most visited touristic site, the Pyramids of Giza being on the top of the list. The relocation of the temples was a historic event in the 1960’s. At that time, the temples were threatened by submersion in Lake Nasser when the High Dam was constructed.
Alexandria
Alexandria, the second largest city in Egypt, known as “The Pearl of the Mediterranean”, has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern. Its ambience and cultural heritage distance it from the rest of the country although it is actually only 225 km. from Cairo.
Hurghada
Spanning over 40 km of pristine coastline, Hurghada City has year-round sunshine, incredibly beautiful coral reefs and dozens of exciting attractions in a laid back, relaxed atmosphere. Even though it’s known as a top-three diving destination on the planet, it still has something for everyone, even the non-divers: beach fun, extreme water sports, clubbing and golfing are only some of the options you’ll have to choose from.
El Gouna
Here you’ll find countless interconnected islands, beautiful turquoise lagoons, state of the art golf courses, luxurious beach-front resorts and an endless range of water activities. El Gouna is an environmentally friendly destination complete with world class accommodations for all family members that offers a myriad of services and activities to suit everyone. It is located 22 km away from Hurghada and 470 km away from Cairo.
Soma Bay
Located on the Red Sea, the very exclusive Red Sea resort of Soma Bay is an ode to relaxation and recreation, a haven of upscale pampering and leisure only 45 kilometers south from Hurghada International Airport. With year round sunshine and pleasant temperatures, Soma Bay boasts all the amenities, activities and options you would want to have on your dream Red Sea holiday in Egypt.
Sharm El Shiekh
With sunshine and warm waters all year round, Sharm El Sheikh is the destination where you can soak up sun, dive amazing corals reefs, and enjoy the sea any time you need a break from routine. The climate is lovely and dry all year long with temperatures ranging between 20° and 25° C in the winter months, whereas in summer the temperatures go up a little reaching highs of 30 to 39° C.
Marsa Alam
Nestled between sea and desert, the town offers all kinds of accommodations, ranging from upscale comfort establishments with complete Western amenities to Bedouin-inspired eco-lodges. Dive sites accessible from Marsa Alam number among the most attractive in the Red Sea for experienced divers. Healthy coral reefs and the wide range of underwater wildlife such as dugongs and dolphins are the principal draw factors of Marsa Alam.
Fayoum
By far the most accessible of Egypt’s oases, Fayoum has a lot to offer, whether it is desert expeditions, traditional handicrafts, delicious local food, or the one-of-a-kind outdoor museum in Wadi Hetan (Valley of the Whales). Because it’s only an hour or two outside of Cairo, Fayoum is perfect for day or weekend trips, with some really special accommodation options.
Siwa
Lying just 50 km from the Libyan border, with a vibrant Berber community and deep ties with ancient Egyptian and Greek cultures, Siwa is a totally unique and deeply mystical place, with heritage and traditions that go back many thousands of years. At the heart of the oasis is the Shali, an incredibly dynamic ancient city built out of clay taken from the stunning and completely surreal salt lakes that surround the area.
Farafra
Less than 50km to the north of the town, the White Desert is perhaps one of Egypt’s most spectacular sights, with snow-white rock formations made up of ancient limestone sediment that has been sculpted by sand and wind into surreal structures that look like they came out of a science fiction movie.
